Who am I?
I am 30 odd fella from Helsinki, Finland. Currently I am unemployed, though I have BBA in marketing and have background (and some day maybe even degree) in IT as well. I am interested in history, social issues, human behaviour, business, electronic world, miniatures and board gaming & gazillion smaller things. I almost always need something to do not only for my head, but also for my hands and thus I am into all sorts of hand crafts as well, be it wood, fabrics, metals or what ever.
Where did I come from?
I could say that my roots are all over the modern day Finland and Karelian Republic in Russia. My personal story begins in Uusimaa region in southern Finland, a tad bit outside the capital city area. Though, we did move soon to Jyväskylä in Central Finland, where I have thus far spend about half of my life. I had a good childhood in Jyväskylä and that city holds always a dear spot in my heart.
After serving my time in the military green, I did head to South-Eastern Finland to start my IT masters studies in Lappeenranta University of Technology, where I stayed for four years. Even though I did not walk away with a degree (yet!) that time, all that happened there has been vital in shaping the person I am today: i learned to enjoy active participation in different causes, to take care of myself and of the people around me, and most importantly to learn constantly.
After that and some soul searching, I did end up in Kouvola – a small, grey and miserable place not far west from Lappeenranta. Time spend there has very little merit outside of showing me once again that business is the field where main main ambitions lie careerwise. Other than that, I have been left with one thing why I would still not trade away the time spend in Kouvola for any price – my beloved pooch, La Dugga, Le Wöwwöw, my dog Minni.
After that I started the current chapter of my life – life in the capital city area of Finland, where I have finally found a place that offers me a good combination of urban and sub-urban life & nature (though sometimes I do yearn for closer connection to bigger patches of wilderness.) It was in Helsinki where I graduated from my BBA program, and where I do hope to find meaningful employment some day. It was also in Helsinki, where I have been able to unleash my passion for working for the greater good in terms of contributing to different associations.
Where am I going?
The future is a mystery, a mystery that will never truly unravel itself. Regardless of this this I do hope that my future hold opportunities to put my education and passions to good use. International aspect ouch to be present in my future in some way regardless of what I do, just as it has been for the past decade or so. Maybe even in such an extent as becoming an expat for some limited time. And ofc the usual stuff as well, family, kids and chances to see and experience as much of the world as possible.
