Asian Adventure vol. I – South East Asia: Cambodia, Vietnam & co – Dec 15th till Jan 8th

To get started with this blogging thing, here’s the kick off of my Asian Adventure vol. I travel blog – the main reason why I finally found enough motivation and determination to fight my way trough the ever so high piles of crap called content management systems.

So, in just over two weeks (by some mere hours that is) I’ll be heading outside Europe for the first time of my life to complete my first semi-real backpacking experience – a three and half weeks long trip traveling around South East Asia, mainly Cambodia and Vietnam, possibly bundled up with a short visit to Thailand or Laos. I am fortunate enough to be allowed to share this experience with three good friends of mine, who (to be honest) are the sole reason why I have courage to try my wings on such a journey. Two of em are backpacking gurus and are familiar with that part of the world, so I do feel that I can sit back and enjoy the ride with relative confidence that things will go just fine without me having to pull the reigns again.

We have been planning this trip for better art of a year now and I have been fuzzing about it like a autistic mother hen would fuzz about her chicks – Meetings, plans (and plans and plans), places to visit accommodation options, you name it… If it could be needed, I have been fuzzing over it. So in a way I hope I can relax on the trip itself and stop running around trying to optimize every bit of time we have, just to get to see and experience everything possible… Especially as I am kinda fond of organizing and optimizing pretty much everything I do.

All in all I am at the same time super exited about the trip and at the same time I am growing more and more nervous as well. And lately I have been a tad bit feeling regret that I will not be seeing my family this Christmas – though this is not my first Christmas without em. But maybe the magic of Christmas can be found on the sunny beach as well, it could be hiding in the corals or maybe be chilling under a palm tree đŸ˜›
