As mentioned in the resurrection post, I want to start cataloging my journey into the world of Infinity and especially into yu Jing faction.
Why Infinity? I have been mildly interested in Infinity ever since the English quick starts originally came out, but have never gotten around actually learning the rules and as the players for the game in Finland at the time were pretty much non-existent I really never got into the game. Recently, just before Christmas, I attended open doors event at a local gaming community that had just relocated near me. One of the games being demoed there was Infinity and I decided to give it a go. From that moment on, I have been hooked – and it does not hurt that I tend to like a lot of the Corvus Belli miniatures, both Infinity and War Crow lines are filled with awesome pieces.
Why Yu Jing then? They got a lot of neat figs, but more importantly, the few Infinity minis I already got were Yu Jing. Who knows how I ended up with em, maybe they were impulse buys or maybe I got am as a gift from somewhere. Never the less I got a couple ones and had even started working on em.
Thus far I have cleaned up the minis, based all minis – bar a couple details on the last one – and kinda assembled them. Kinda as in “I haven’t fixed the arms in yet” – My aim is to magnetize the weapons and and eventually cast all the weapon option on each miniatures profile, something that I have never done before.
Anyways, I got the following minis and need to figure out how to build a list or two out of em, though I am suspecting that I’ll need to buy some reinforcements before I can have a competitive list.
- Yan Huo Invincible
- Hac Tao Special Unit
- Imperial Agent – Crane Rank
- Imperial Agent – Pheasant Rank
- Zuyong Invincible
- Shang Ji
- 2x Guilang Skirmishers (1x sniper, 1x all weapon options)
- 2x Daofei
- 2x Domaru Butai
- 4x Celestial Guard
I already noticed that I can’t use all my Celestials on a standard list… I am kinda surprised that CB sells a box of usual light infantry that you cannot even use in full in a standard list :\ Oh well, apparently I have to try out the Imperial Service special list some day… In any case, this is the sole reason why I need more of the normal fodder to act as order bank for the big guys and as specialists, when needed.
